Spencer Thun has worked with a variety of artists and storytellers, frequently collaborating with animators, filmmakers, and serving at one point as the composer for a contemporary dance company.
After finishing his undergraduate work with an emphasis in music and performance art at The Evergreen State College, he later earned a graduate degree in composition at Western Washington University. As a graduate student, he focused on works for tape and live performers, before writing a quasi-programmatic piece for orchestra inspired by the explosive labor history of the United States.
Now living in Los Angeles, Spencer has brought several scores to the Sundance Film Festival and has produced music for Drawn & Recorded, featured on Spotify and Audience Network. Previous clients include The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Microsoft and The North Face.
